Steps to Streamline Your Filing Process

























Step One
A New Client? Contact Us Right Away!
If you need help with your federal or state taxes, we are here for you. Start by sending us a message through our website, emailing us at associate@ciampitax.com, or scheduling an intro call. During this time, we will ask for some basic information, advise of needed documentation, answer any questions, and determine if we are the right firm to best meet your needs. Please complete our Client Contact Details form to include with step two.
Step Two
Gather and Organize Your Tax Documents
- Refer to our Tax Return Checklist to ensure nothing is overlooked.
- Include any major life events (marriage, new baby, relocation) and changes to pertinent personal information (bank change, bank account number change).
- Review your previous year’s tax return to identify documentation you will need again.
- Check for any missing information and work on obtaining it.
- Please organize all documents.
All documentation must be obtained prior to submission. Please do not send in documents piecemeal.
Step Three
Submit Your Tax Documents
Choose a convenient submission method. Complete documents are required to proceed.
- Upload to Our Secure Online Portal, Canopy: Request access to our encrypted platform by emailing associate@ciampitax.com. Returning clients may log in to the same account.
- Drop-off: During office hours or after-hours via our secure and monitored dropbox.
- Mail: Use USPS or carrier of your choice to send your documents to our office.
Step Four
Schedule an Appointment
Appointments are available via in-person, Zoom, or conference call.
Once we receive the documents, we require at least five business days to review them before scheduling your appointment. Appointments can be booked online through the Client Hub.
We recommend online scheduling if possible. If calling, please be patient as phone coverage is limited.
Step Five
Prepare for Your Appointment
Before your appointment:
- List questions or topics you’d like to address.
- Bring any missing or additional information.
Step Six
Review and Finalize Your Tax Return for Filing
- Confirm accuracy in all details including banking info, names, and direct deposit details.
- Sign IRS Form 8879 and our Letter of Engagement (hard copy or electronic).
- Return the signed Form 8879 promptly to authorize e-filing.
- Pay invoices promptly to receive your final tax package.
